Yanchep Day Out

The West – When Family & Friends Come to Visit!

Yanchep & Two Rocks are a must-visit location on your Perth itinerary, with everything from Beach to Bush on offer and all just an easy day trip 45 minutes drive north of Perth.

Yanchep National Park

With historic buildings nestled on the shores of a lake amid coastal woodland, wetlands and limestone caves, Yanchep National Park really delivers on the nature based experience. Spot the sleepy koalas on the 240m boardwalk, stretch the legs on one of the nine walk trails and enjoy watching the many grey kangaroos freely bouncing around the place they call home.

Explore and learn about the ‘jewelled city’, with a tour of the enchanting Crystal Cave. Book online to secure your spot or try at the Visitor Centre on the day.  Enjoy an entertaining Aboriginal Cultural experience and learn about the oldest living culture, with didgeridoo playing, spear throwing and much more. Available Sundays and public holidays and we’d recommend booking this one ahead of your visit.

If you’re pecklish, there is the quaint Chocolate Drops Tearooms, with speciality handmade Australian themed goodies and homemade light meals or for something more substantial visit the historic Yanchep Inn. There are even helicopter rides with West Coast Heli Scene, with various packages available.

Don’t forget one of the best bush camping experiences is also found right in the centre of the Park, with ablution facilities, BBQ, Firepit and lots of friendly kangaroos as your neighbours. Bookings essential.

What else is there to discover?

The Yanchep Lagoon is an insta-worthy location, with the reef throwing up every colour of blue, contrasting the long white sandy beach. Enjoy swimming, fishing, snorkelling and even SUPing in the sheltered waters of the Lagoon and for those wanting to grab a wave, The Spot is just a short drive north and is a gem of a surf reef break

Orion Cafe at the Lagoon is a popular local eatery and it’s worth checking them out to find out why!

Add in a stop off at Mary Lindsay Homestead, an historic home now sensitively restored and host to a community art centre.

Two Rocks

A trip to Yanchep should include taking in a visit to Two Rocks, just a short drive up the coastline, with the Marina, shops and a giant statue of King Neptune. A number of popular cafes are dotted throughout the coastal shopping centre, located on Enterprise Avenue.
