Surf, swim, and relax on the best beaches in the state.

The City of Wanneroo is home to a collection of fantastic beaches that offer a slice of paradise for locals and visitors alike.

One such gem is Yanchep Lagoon Beach, located in the northern coastal suburb of Yanchep. This beach boasts stunning views and is known for its excellent snorkelling opportunities., found along the reef.

Quinns Rocks Beach is another must-visit destination, known for its sandy shores and crystal-clear waters, overlooked by the Surf Life Club and eateries.

Wanneroo is home to some great surf breaks, including The Spot and Derrs at Yanchep.

Snorkelling

Yanchep Lagoon is well known for snorkelling in the clear shallow reef waters, or drop a line and try to catch some fish.

Water Fun

The calm protected waters in the Marina at Mindarie offer a great spot to SUP, kayak and then grab a bite to eat.

Wanneroo is home to 32km of coastline and there is a beach to suit every taste.

Claytons Beach just South of Mindarie is more suited to experienced swimmers and is popular to surfing and body boarders, due to the reefs and Marina creating some challenging wave conditions. Quinns Rocks Beach is nearly 1km long and at the southern end has a surf patrolled beach (subject to dates/times), along with a small selection of cafes. There is also a dog beach located near 156 Ocean Drive, with a small car park nearby.

The Shorehaven beach at Alkimos is accessed via a landscaped foreshore park and the popular Oceans 27 restaurant and cafe.

Yanchep Lagoon splits into a south and north section. The southern section is closest to Fisherman’s Hollow Park and is enclosed by the reef created a calm lagoon. The north section is the more popular swimming and snorkelling beach and is usually calm, but can have a strong current flowing out of the northern end. The beach is patrolled (during summer months) with a large Surf Life Club and a small cafe to grab a coffee, ice-cream or bite to eat.
