“My first visit to the City of Wanneroo in Western Australia was a lovely surprise. What a great place, from the stunning white sand beaches of Shorehaven beach to the serenity of Yanchep National Park”.

“Wanneroo offered spectacular scenery as well as some of the freshest local fish and bountiful produce for all my recipes.”
Adrian Richardson

Celebrity Chef Adrian Richardson recently visited the City of Wanneroo to film his popular TV cooking show Good Chef Bad Chef.

Whilst in Wanneroo, Adrian created some delicious recipes using local produce and visited some of the City’s most popular visitor attractions to film segments for season 12 of Good Chef Bad Chef which airs nationally at 4pm Monday – Friday on Network 10 and is also distributed internationally.

The hero of Adrian’s first recipe, was locally caught melt-in-your-mouth pan fried Dhufish. Best of Boat World’s fishing charters hosted Adrian on board their charter vessel at Mindarie Marina showcasing the City’s beautiful coastline and impressive local seafood.

The Dhufish was complimented by a medley of local fresh produce including Trandos tomatoes and cucumbers, Jumanga olives and Blazing Saddles chilli. Rounding out the dish was a tasty beer bread made using locally brewed boutique beer from the Indian Ocean Brewing Company.

This was Adrian’s first visit to Wanneroo so naturally he wanted to have a look around and get a feel for what Wanneroo has to offer. He managed to find time to visit Shorehaven Beach in Alkimos and Yanchep National Park on his way to Yanchep Lavender Farm where he created his second delicious recipe.

Adrian finished his day at the Yanchep Lavender Farm where he created a second mouth-watering recipe. With the sun setting, the sweet smell of lavender in full bloom and the gentle sounds of bees going about their business Adrian had the perfect backdrop for filming. Using the culinary variety of lavender Adrian whipped up a batch of heavenly lavender pancakes served with a warm gooseberry sauce before exploring the Yanchep Lavender farm shop and ice cream van.

The City of Wanneroo is proud to be home to a wide variety of primary producers and agri-tourism businesses. For more information on the businesses and destinations featured in the filming of Good Chef Bad Chef click on the relevant links below.
